Linen Cord

Linen Cord. Linen cord is available either waxed or unwaxed. Wax on cord keeps the cord stiff, and aids in the stringing process. It also protects the cord against fraying and premature deterioration. However, if you are planning on leaving your linen cord exposed, you may prefer the unwaxed cord. The unwaxed cord is incredibly silky and smooth and will not leave a waxy residue on your designs. If you are using your linen cord on books, or cards, you may prefer the unwaxed cord.

Fun Facts About Linen

Linen is made from fibers of the flax plant. When the plant is harvested, practically every part of the plant is used. The seeds are used in all sorts of products like lotions, soaps, specialty paper, and much more. Perhaps you know someone who's taking a flaxseed oil supplement?

Linen will soften with age. It will also strengthen by 20% once wet. I guess you don't have to think twice about wearing that linen necklace in the shower!

Linen has silica present which aids linen against rotting. In fact, they used to use linen cloth to wrap the mummies of Egyptian Pharaohs.
